About the Law Offices of Albert Goodwin

The Law Offices of Albert Goodwin help immigrants and their families build permanent, secure futures in the United States. Based in Coral Gables, we represent clients throughout Florida and, because immigration law is federal, across the country and abroad. Our practice covers the full range of immigration matters — family-based and employment-based petitions, green cards, fiancé and marriage cases, adjustment of status, consular processing, citizenship and naturalization, asylum, and defense against deportation in immigration court.

Our Approach

Immigration cases are won through preparation. Before we file anything, we take the time to understand your complete history — how you entered the country, your family relationships, any prior applications, and any criminal or immigration issues that could affect eligibility. Only then do we recommend a strategy. We would rather tell you honestly that a case is difficult, or that a different path is safer, than file something that puts you at risk.

We believe clients deserve to work directly with a lawyer. You will not be handed off to a form preparer or a notario. We explain each step in plain language, answer your questions, and keep you informed from the first consultation through final approval. We serve Florida's diverse immigrant communities in English, Spanish, and Russian.

Areas We Handle

  • Family-based immigration — petitions for spouses, children, parents, and siblings
  • Marriage green cards and fiancé K-1 visas
  • Adjustment of status and consular processing
  • Employment-based immigration, including H-1B and other work visas
  • EB-5 investor immigration
  • Citizenship and naturalization
  • Asylum and humanitarian protection
  • Deportation and removal defense in immigration court
  • Waivers of inadmissibility

Who We Serve

We represent individuals, families, and employers throughout Florida — from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties to Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Naples, and the Keys — as well as clients in other states and applicants going through U.S. consulates abroad. Many of our matters are handled remotely, from the first consultation through approval, for clients who cannot travel to our office.
