What to Have Ready When You Call

If you can, having the following information available when you contact us helps us evaluate your situation quickly:

  • Your current immigration status and how you entered the United States
  • Your country of citizenship and the countries of any family members involved
  • The relationship between you and the person petitioning for you, or the person you wish to petition for
  • Any prior applications or petitions you have filed, and their outcomes
  • Any prior immigration court history, removal orders, or departures from the United States
  • Any arrests, charges, or convictions, anywhere in the world
  • Copies of any notices you have received from USCIS, the immigration court, or a U.S. consulate

If you do not have all of this yet, do not worry — contact us anyway. Part of our job is to help you gather records, obtain your immigration file, and understand where your case actually stands.

A Note on Immigration Deadlines

Immigration deadlines are strict and unforgiving. A missed court date can result in a removal order entered in your absence. A late response to a Request for Evidence can cause a petition to be denied. An expired work permit can cost you your job. If you have received any notice with a date on it, please contact us as soon as possible so we have time to respond properly.

We look forward to speaking with you.
